Corruption and glutton eats away at youth work opportunities.

Corruption has ate a great deal of youth opportunities, enriching corrupt leaders who constantly take from the poor and the state. Political gluttony refers to how corruption and excessive consumption of resources by those in power undermine the prospects for employment and economic opportunities for young people. Here's how these factors interact.

In past times there have been misallocation of resources and corruption often leading to the misallocation of resources, with public funds intended for youth employment programs, education, and skill development being siphoned off or misused by corrupt officials or elites. This deprives young people of the resources needed to access quality education, training, and job opportunities. Adding to that would be the Impeding economic growth that corruption creates. This goes with inefficiencies and distorts economic incentives, hindering overall economic growth and job creation. When resources are diverted for personal gain rather than invested in productive sectors of the economy, the job market stagnates, making it harder for young people to find employment.

Unfair Competition: Corruption distorts markets and creates unfair competition, favoring well-connected individuals or businesses over young entrepreneurs and small enterprises. This limits the ability of young people to start their own businesses or compete for jobs on a level playing field, perpetuating unemployment and underemployment among youth.

Undermining Trust and Confidence: Corruption erodes trust in public institutions and undermines confidence in the government's ability to address youth unemployment effectively. When young people perceive that the system is rigged in favor of the corrupt elite, they may become disillusioned and disengaged from efforts to improve their economic prospects, exacerbating social and political instability. In environments plagued by corruption, talented young people may choose to leave the country in search of better opportunities elsewhere, exacerbating the "brain drain" phenomenon. This further deprives the country of skilled workers and entrepreneurs who could contribute to economic growth and innovation. Corruption deters domestic and foreign investment by increasing uncertainty and perceived risks for businesses. This limits the creation of new job opportunities and stifles economic development, particularly in sectors that could potentially absorb large numbers of young workers.

Addressing corruption and gluttony requires robust anti-corruption measures, transparency in governance, and accountability mechanisms to ensure that resources are used effectively and equitably. By tackling corruption and promoting good governance, governments can create an enabling environment for youth employment, entrepreneurship, and economic growth, thereby unlocking the potential of young people as drivers of sustainable development.
